Hi Baylor Women in Business,
I hope you are well! My name is Natasha and I am a senior at Texas Tech University. Currently pursuing a Bachelor in Business Administration in Finance and Management.
I am currently working as a community manager for Girls Who VC.
Historically, venture capital is a male-dominated field, lacking diversity on the investment team. This not only negatively affects women interested in the field, but also firms and entrepreneurs.
Girls Who VC is dedicated to increasing the number of women in venture capital. We want to educate young women about the venture capital field and create a pipeline of talented and motivated young who are prepared to succeed with the educational resources they have been exposed to.
We are going to accomplish this in several ways:
Expose young women who had never heard about VC to the field through social media, events, and community.
Create educational content for young women to learn more about the field, such as blog posts and podcasts interviewing women in venture capital.
Establish a community where members can talk to each other and get advice and mentorship.
Partner with venture capital firms to place these young women into internships or mentorship programs where they can gain hands-on experience in the field.
My ask
I was wondering if you could. share this information about our community with Baylor's Women in Business community. Members can check out more information on our website: Girls Who VC and join our slack: Slack
